China’ s PCT Filing in 2005 Ranked Top Ten in the World for the First Time

The news released on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on February 3rd, 2006, show that the global PCT filings reached a new history record increasing by 9.4% over last year with the total of 134,073. The United States ranked No. 1 with the filing of 45,111, covering 33.6%, following by Japan, Germany and France. With the filing of 2, 452, increasing by 43.7%, China overpasses Italy, Canada and Australia, and ranked top ten for the first time.
